Alan Robinson is a consultant and adviser in protected areas and sustainable tourism, specializing in national park planning, visitor infrastructure and activities, ecolodge location and design, ecotourism circuits, and community-based tourism. He has worked in North, Central, and South America, Russia, Georgia, North and Central Africa, Southeast Asia, China, Australia and the Pacific. He is particularly interested in marine conservation, island parks and related tourism. Alan is a biologist, environmental specialist and park planner retired from the US National Park Service, former Peace Corps Volunteer and staff member, and currently Board Member of a non-profit nature association partnering with US Forest Service and BLM. He is active in establishing and managing scenic byways and hiking and bicycling trails. He lives with his wife Karen in the mountains of central Colorado, USA.
